Paredes, Aguirre-Alfonso and Marchetti-Ruiz Soto winners and ready for Gijon

Two great and balanced finals, both lasting three sets, crowned Tolito Aguirre, Gonza Alfonso, Giorgia Marchetti and Sara Ruiz Soto respectively kings and queens of the FIP Gold in Paredes, Portugal, the first tournament of the season for this category of the CUPRA FIP Tour (there will be another one this week in Dubai). In the men’s draw, the two Argentines beat the eagerly awaited Portuguese Nuno and Miguel Deus (who were coming from their exploits in the P1 in Riyadh) in the final, coming back from a set down and finishing 3-6 6-2 6-3.

There was also a comeback in the final of the women’s tournament, with the Italian and the Spaniard overcoming (4-6 6-4 6-3) Lucia Martinez Gomez and Julieta Bidahorria, having done the same in the semifinals against the number 2 seed Araceli Martinez and Alix Collombon. The crowd filled the stands of the Padel Clube IdealKorpus and cheered the winners, who are expected this week at the Premier Padel P2 in Gijon.
