May 26, 2023This weekend, the CUPRA FIP Tour divides itself between Spain and the Netherlands. The present in Torremolinos, with the FIP PROMOTION Diputacion Malaga; the future in Zeist, in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht, where a FIP PROMISES is scheduled. At the Villa Deportiva de Torremolinos, two draws: a men’s one consisting of 32 pairs and a women’s one of 18.
Among the men, leading the seeding are Swedish Simon Vasquez and Spain’s Cayetano Rocafort Lores, finalists in Burriana and winners of the FIP RISE in Gothenburg. On the other side of the draw, number two seeded Spaniard Miguel Gonzalez and Norwegian number one Fredrik Ask. A former professional tennis player and also included in the Davis Cup team, Ask said he discovered padel in Oslo thanks to an Argentinian friend.
Among the women, with the withdrawal of the first seeded pair – Raquel Segura and Lourdes Pascual – the role of favourite has passed into the hands of Lorena Vano and Lorena Alonso De Lera. In Zeist, however, the FIP PROMISES reserved for five categories is being played: Under 14 and Under 16 men’s, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 women’s, the women’s three with the round robin formula.
