Glory for Vinci and Zanchetta

The surname says it all. From tennis to padel, Roberta Vinci has not lost the habit of winning titles. The Italian, five-time Slam champion in doubles and finalist in singles at the 2015 US Open, triumphed in the FIP PROMOTION in Giulianova: paired with Erika Zanchetta, as the first seed in the draw, Roberta beat Valentina Tommasi and Eugenia Guimet Bigas (6-7 6-1 6-1).

Italian success also in the men’s draw: Marco Cassetta and the Spaniard Joaquim Florensa Hernandez won in a very tight final against two other Italians, Riccardo Sinicropi and Giulio Graziotti. The game ended 6-7 7-5 7-5, with Cassetta and Florensa Hernandez also having to play three sets in the quarterfinal against Cremona and Sanchez Arriaga (3-6 6-3 6-2) and in the semifinal against Di Bene and Agustin Salandro (3-6 7-6 7-5).

A total of 120 players came in Giulianova, coming from seven different countries, in addition to Italy: Argentina, Spain, England, France, Poland, Czech Republic and India. Over the weekend, there were more than 1.000 fans at Chico Padel, 250 of them for the final of the first Italian stage of the CUPRA FIP TOUR 2023.
