Day 1. The show starts in Doha. Tuesday is the day of the stars

At the Khalifa Tennis&Squash Complex, the champions have arrived. First results at the Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel, with Juan Cruz Belluati and Nachi Sager winning the first marathon of the week, 7-6 5-7 7-6 over Josete Rico and Agustin Gutierrez. This victory gave the Argentine and the Spanish a duel with Javi Garcia and Javier Barahona, who came from Italy where they raised the trophy in the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup.

It will be a super Tuesday in Doha, with 28 matches scheduled, 16 from the men’s and 12 from the women’s draw, to define the pairings for the round of 16, when the top four seeds of the women’s tournament will also take the court. The programme on centre court is very interesting: after the challenge between Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno against Noa Canovas and Jimena Velasco, here are the first three “parejas” of the men’s seeding. Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, the latter a finalist in 2024 with Javi Garrido, will begin against Pol Hernandez and Rama Valenzuela; then, in order, first Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, aiming to win another tournament after those in Miami and Santiago, and finally Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who against Gonzalo Rubio and Pablo Lijo will begin the defence of the title won in 2024.
