The draws. In Doha the first of the ‘Big Four’ of 2025

All set in Doha for the first of the four majors of the 2025 Qatar Airways Premier Padel circuit. At the Khalifa Tennis&Squash Complex, which also hosted the FIP World Padel Championships in October, it will be showtime, with Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia defending their title in the men’s draw and Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez doing the same in the women’s tournament.

MEN There will be 48 pairs starting in the men’s main draw, with the 16 seeds entering the court from the second round. Muñoz/Vilariño or Rubio/Lijo will be the first opponents for Coello and Tapia, who must redeem their elimination in the round of 16 in the P1 in Santiago. Torre/Cepero or a qualified pair, on the other hand, for the debut of Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2), winners of the last two tournaments on the circuit, in Miami and Chile. Given the absence of Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk, it will be Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas who will be the number 3 seed: debut against Moya/Rico or Hernandez/Valenzuela. Finally, the fourth seeded pair will be Javi Garrido and Martin Di Nenno, who will start against two qualifiers or against Valdes/Sanchez Chamero. Possible quarters: Coello/Tapia (1)-Cardona/Augsburger (8), Gonzalez/Sanz (5)-Nieto/Yanguas (3), Garrido/Di Nenno (4)-Navarro/Bergamini (6), Alonso/Arroyo (7)-Chingotto-Galan (2).

WOMEN Forty pairs in the women’s draw, with the top four seeds (Sanchez/Josemaria, Triay/Brea, Gonzalez/Fernandez and Ortega/Araujo) making their debut in the round of 16. Talavan/Sharifova (16) are the closest seed to the number 1 in the FIP ranking, in the same half as Claudia and Bea (who can cross the number 13, Riera/Marrero, in their debut match). In the bottom half, however, Martinez/Collombon (15) are in the same round of 16 as Ortega and Araujo, with Delfi and Gemma drawing Guinart/Iglesias (12) in their round of 16, with hypothetical fourth against Ale Alonso and Andrea Ustero (6).
