Kaunas, Cassetta makes history: the Italian wins in Lithuania and becomes the most successful player in the CUPRA FIP Tour

Three consecutive wins and a record. Marco Cassetta has written another chapter in history with his victory at the FIP Bronze Kaunas, becoming the first padel player in the world to win 10 tournaments on the CUPRA FIP Tour. The Italian, partnering with José Luis González (new world number 89), won the final against the Arija/Martinez duo with a score of 6-2 3-6 6-3, surpassing Jairo Bautista in this special ranking and climbing even higher in the FIP rankings. The Italian-Spanish duo continues to win, reaching three consecutive victories after two wins in FIP Silver tournaments in Egypt.

“We are very happy with the win at the FIP Bronze in Kaunas; this means much more to me than just a simple victory,” said Marco Cassetta after this historic triumph.

In the women’s draw, the win went to the Spanish duo of Nuria Vivancos and Xenia Clascà. The 2001-born players won the final against Dominguez and Touly 6-2 6-3. The young Spaniards, semifinalists last week at the FIP Bronze Houten, became the new world numbers 85 and 81 in the FIP rankings.
