More tournaments (+40%), more points, more countries: the CUPRA FIP Tour 2025 breaks records. International experience and FIP ranking to climb around the world
January 29, 2025An increasingly global circuit, which is growing in the number of tournaments and countries involved thanks to the work of maximum cooperation between the International Padel Federation and the national federations. The CUPRA FIP Tour 2025 has already started its journey around the world, which will touch the five continents and also unexplored destinations, giving players the chance to gain experience at an international level and earn valuable FIP ranking points. This is one of the great novelties of the CUPRA FIP Tour 2025: the increased availability of points for the world ranking according to an enhanced reward mechanism that will offer more chances to players and players who want to gain experience and to those who aim to grow in their respective rankings.
There are already 160 tournaments confirmed for 2025, with an increase of 46 (+40%, a number that will grow again) compared to 2024, when it closed at 114: a clear sign of the appeal of the FIP circuit ‘branded’ CUPRA. The first tournaments were held in Australia – with the participation, among others, of former world tennis stars such as Pat Rafter, Jonas Bjorkman, Sara Errani, Tathiana Garbin – but the CUPRA FIP Tour has already landed in Europe and South America and this weekend will return to Qatar, a global phenomenon that keeps intact its goal: to spread padel to every corner of the planet with a special eye on the NextGen. The CUPRA FIP Tour is a real launching pad for emerging talents, where young players make their way to the world elite. This has been demonstrated by stars such as Arturo Coello, Fede Chingotto, Mike Yanguas, Claudia Jensen, Sofia Araújo and Tamara Icardo, who took their first steps on this circuit before shining at the top of padel.
There are four categories in the CUPRA FIP Tour 2025: FIP Platinum, FIP Gold, FIP Silver and FIP Bronze, with increased scores for the winning pairs. Winners of FIP Platinum tournaments will in fact receive 300 points in the FIP ranking; for FIP Gold winners there will be 150 points, for FIP Silver winners 80 and for FIP Bronze winners 40. Finally, the winners of the CUPRA FIP Finals will receive 225 points.
Among the tournaments already confirmed for this year are nine nations preparing to host an official International Padel Federation circuit event for the first time: Dominican Republic, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Romania, Vietnam and Indonesia. The CUPRA FIP Tour crosses all borders.
