Guinart-Iglesias and Guerrero-Bautista end 2024 on the throne

Two big finals to close the International Padel Federation circuit which in 12 months has covered five continents, with 115 tournaments played. Marina Guinart and Victoria Iglesias among women, Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista among men: these were the winners of the CUPRA FIP Finals in Bourg en Bresse (France). It was the top seeds on the draw who triumphed, with Guinart and Iglesias breaking Alix Collombon’s dream of a home win over Spanish Araceli Martinez in three sets. After one set won on each side (6-4 5-7), the third ended 6-0 with no history. For Guinart and Iglesias, this was the first career title on the FIP circuit.

On the other hand, Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista, who had already lifted the trophy in pairs in the FIP Platinum in Marbella and in the FIP Gold in Lyon, got used to winning. Guerrero and Bautista denied the double to Nachi Sager, who had won the CUPRA FIP Finals in 2022 in Turin. After a balanced first set that ended with a score of 7-5, the second saw the domination of Guerrero and Bautista, who closed 6-1 over Sager and Lucas Campagnolo.
