Day 1. French derby to Guichard and Leygue. Tomorrow the round of 16

Bourg en Bresse (France) saw the start of the CUPRA FIP Finals, and it started with many French players on the court. On centre court, the all ‘bleu’ derby went to Dylan Guichard and Thomas Leygue, who overcame Philemon Raichman and Julien Seurin in two sets (6-4 7-5) and will face Pincho Fernandez and José Jimenez in the round of 16. Also doing well in the women’s draw was Lea Godallier, who with Italian Giorgia Marchetti beat Dardaine/Sireix 6-2 6-2; Other French successes included wild cards Jessica Ginier Barbier and Carla Touly (6-4 6-4 over Martinez/Manquillo) and in the evening that of Johan Bergeron and Bastien Blanqué (7-6-6-4 over Italians Marco Cassetta and Alvaro Montiel).

On Thursday, with the entry of the seeded players, the CUPRA FIP Finals get into full swing: the round of 16 will be played, starting at 11 a.m., in a programme that will take place on three courts. Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista, the top seeds in the men’s draw, will take the court in the first match on court number 1 against Javi Martinez and Guillermo Collado; Marina Guinart and Victoria Iglesias, who lead the women’s draw, will face Marta Barrera and Marta Caparros in the fifth match on court no. 2.
