Day 1: The first results. And today it’s Bela’s time

The one that began in Acapulco will be the last Major for the ‘legend’ Fernando Belasteguin, who, paired with compatriot Tino Libaak, will today face qualifiers Gerard Arnaldos and Agustin Torre. The one between Libaak/Belasteguin and Arnaldos/Torre will be the second match on the centre court of a programme starting at 4 p.m. Mexican time, 11 .p.m CET.

THE RESULTS At the Arena GNP Seguros, meanwhile, the main draw matches began: the marathon of the Day 1 saw José Solano Marmolejo and Victor Mena win 6-7 7-6 7-6 over Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista, who were seeded number 13 and semi-finalists in the P1 in Kuwait City. The first two pairs in the seeding now know their opponents in the opening match: Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will face Pol Hernandez Alvarez and Rama Valenzuela, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan instead find Dani Santigosa and Miguel Lamperti.
