Sweden VII, Olsson-Rutgersson win the all-Swedish final

An all-Swedish final concluded the FIP Rise Sweden VII weekend, the latest chapter of the CUPRA FIP Tour held in Gothenburg. In the decisive match at the Bon Padel Arena, Albin Olsson and Douglas Rutgersson won over their national teammates Daniel Appelgren and Linus Frost, with whom they competed in the World Championships in Doha less than a month ago.

Olsson and Rutgersson, seeded sixth, defeated their rivals (7) 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, after overcoming the Spanish duo Romera/Dorta, one of the tournament favorites, in the quarterfinals, and eliminating the French pair Boronad/Fonteny in the semifinals. For Olsson, this marks his second Rise title of the year, following his June win in Cordenons (Italy), while for Rutgersson, it is his first triumph in a CUPRA FIP Tour event. “Finally all the way, partner!” said Olsson after the match, celebrating the title with Rutgersson.
