The first historic CUPRA FIP Tour tournament in the Philippines has concluded

The FIP Rise Manila tournament has come to an end, marking the first-ever CUPRA FIP Tour event held in the Philippines. In the men’s draw, the title went to Spaniards Sergio Nogueras Lorenz and Marc Bernils Garcia, seeded number 5. After eliminating the top seeds in the semifinals, Nogueras and Bernils defeated James Prins and Simon Jones (seeded number 3) in two sets (7-5, 7-5). This victory represents the Spaniards’ first career triumph on the CUPRA FIP Tour.

In the women’s draw, the title went to the british couple Aimee Gibson and Victoria Nicholas, seeded number 2. The English duo capitalized on the withdrawal of the tournament favorites, Dutch player Rosalie Van der Hoek and Spanish player Carla Fernandez Gonzalez (seeded number 1), claiming the trophy. For Gibson and Nicholas, this is their first FIP Rise victory of the season. “Thank you for this wonderful tournament. We will definitely return”, added Aimee Gibson after lifting the trophy with her partner, also expressing support for the opponents who had to withdraw due to injury.
