Vic, Giulia Dal Pozzo wins again

Jaume Romera Barceló and Diego Dorta Díaz are the winners of the FIP Promotion in Vic, Catalonia, a stage of the CUPRA FIP Tour held over the weekend. The fourth-seeded pair in the men’s bracket claimed victory in the final against Marc Bernils Garcia and Ruben Rivera (2), who retired due to Rivera’s physical issues when the score was 7-6, 6-2. “Very happy to have won this tournament where we kept improving all weekend. I wish Ruben a speedy recovery”, Romera commented after the match.

In the women’s tournament, the winners were 17-year-old Carla Fernandez Gonzalez and 2005-born Giulia Dal Pozzo (4), who celebrated her second consecutive victory following her FIP Promotion win in Croatia in early October. In the final, the pair defeated Maria Cristina Lopez and Blanca Arriola Cerrejon in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-0). “The long-awaited title finally arrived”, Fernandez celebrated after the victory. “Happy to have been alongside Giulia. I thank my parents for the support they always give me”.
