Villena, Reca-Ruque and Vivancos-Clascà triumph
October 21, 2024Álvaro López Luque/Agustín Reca in the men’s category, and Nuria Vivancos and Xènia Clascà in the women’s category, are the winning pairs of the FIP Promotion Villena, which was played at the Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy, the ‘home’ of one of the greatest players in the history of Spanish tennis, now the coach of Carlos Alcaraz.
In the first final, played on the court named after the world number 1, Paula Josemaría, the pair formed by the Spaniard Álvaro López Luque and the German Agustín Reca (6th seeds) defeated in three sets (5-7 6-4 6-1) Sergio Nieto Simón and Marc Sintes Villalonga (2nd seeds). In the women’s final, the title went to the top-seeded pair, Nuria Vivancos and Xènia Clascà, who defeated the Spaniard Carla Fernández González and the Dutch Rosalie Van Der Hoek 6-3 6-4. “Continuing to work and enjoy ourselves together is the only way! I am so happy to fight by your side,” Vivancos said to Clascà. “It was wonderful to see us in the stands, thank you for always being there,” she concluded, addressing her parents.
