Lyon, Day 3: The big day of the finals: Caldera-Rufo to stop Alonso-Ustero
October 13, 2024The FIP Gold in Lyon is ready to elect its champions. At the Palais des Sports it will be an unmissable day. It starts with the semifinals of the men’s draw, without the draw leaders Alex Ruiz and Alex Arroyo, beaten in three sets in the quarters by Fran Guerrero and Jairo Bautista, who find Carlos Perez Cabeza and Adrian Ronco, who came out of the qualifiers, in the semifinals.
In the bottom half, Alex Chozas and Leo Augsburger won in three sets for the third time in a row (over Pincho Fernandez and José Jimenez); in the morning, the duel with Gonzalo Rubio and Pablo Lijo, with the final scheduled not before 3 p.m.
Not before 2 p.m., instead, the final of the women’s draw, with Ale Alonso and Andrea Ustero who will go in the hunt for the title against Lorena Rufo and Bea Caldera, already winners of another FIP Gold this season, the one in Valladolid.
