Groups drawn, matches begin from Sunday in Kuwait City

The final stage of the lead-up to the FIP World Padel Championships, scheduled in Doha (Qatar) from October 28 to November 2, will kick off on Sunday, September 22. Kuwait City will host the FIP World Padel Championships Qualifiers for Asia and Africa, running until September 27, an event organized by the International Padel Federation in collaboration with the Kuwait Padel Federation. The tournament opened today with the draw for the men’s and women’s groups. At stake is one spot in the men’s tournament of the World Championships and two in the women’s finals. Australia will also participate, representing Oceania.

 

Below are the groups for the men’s tournament:

 

Group A: Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon

Group B: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Philippines

Group C: Iran, Japan, Oman, China

Group D: Australia, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Thailand

 

And these are the groups for the women’s tournament:

 

Group A: Japan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia

Group B: United Arab Emirates, Oman, Lebanon

Group C: Egypt, Iran, Bahrain

Group D: Australia, Thailand, Senegal, Philippines

 

The group stage will be played from Sunday, September 22, to Tuesday, September 24; the quarterfinals – featuring the top two teams from each group – will take place on Wednesday, September 25, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, September 26, and the finals on Friday, September 27.
