The Comunidad de Madrid Premier Padel P1 is the first paired tournament for Juanlu Esbri and Lucas Bergamini. A partnership, between the Spaniard and the Brazilian, that began with a great result: qualification for the semifinals thanks to a victory against one of the most awaited pairs, that formed by Mike Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk, the number 4 seed. Esbri, who had started the season with Juanlu Esbri, and Bergamini, who was playing with Victor Ruiz, won 6-3 6-7 6-3 in two hours and 10 minutes, losing the tiebreak of the second set but without falling physically and mentally, finding the strength to restart and pull off the surprise of the week. In the semifinals, Esbri and Bergamini will find Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, who closed the quarter-final day by beating Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz (8) 6-2 6-3. The other semi-final, the one at the top of the draw, lived up to expectations. On the one side Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (1), who defeated José Diestro and Andres Fernandez Lancha, the latter number 224 in the FIP ranking and at the first major circuit tournament in his career, with a double 6-4; on the other side Martin Di Nenno and Juan Lebron (3), who at the end of a battle lasting more than two hours eliminated Pablo Cardona and Paquito Navarro (5) and can still hope for a double after their P2 victory in Finland.
