OYSHO Valladolid FIP Gold, title to Rico-Esbri and Caldera-Rufo
June 29, 2024Those of the OYSHO Valladolid FIP Gold were two very tight finals, but in the end it was the most eagerly awaited pairs who lifted the trophy. In the men’s tournament, Javi Rico and Juanlu Esbri took the title thanks to a 6-3 4-6 6-3 win over José Solano and Luis Hernandez, ending an extraordinary journey that started outside the top seeds and went all the way to the final. For Rico/Esbri it is the second title of the season on the CUPRA FIP Tour after the FIP Promotion La Cala last January.
The women’s final, which had opened the day, also lasted three sets. It was won by the host Bea Caldera (followed at Club Raqueta by family and friends) and Lorena Rufo, who won 6-3 3-6 6-2 over Sandra Bellver and Marta Borrero. Not even time to enjoy the victory and 125 FIP ranking points for each, that Rico/Esbri and Caldera/Rufo will leave for Italy, where the Genova Premier Padel P2 will be played next week.
