FIP Rise Tenerife, Del Moral and De Pascual surprising winners

Matias Del Moral and Juani De Pascual started as the number 5 seed in the FIP Rise in Tenerife (Spain). The Argentinians, however, overturned the predictions by taking home the trophy without losing a set. In the final, Del Moral and De Pascual dominated the Argentine derby against Maxi Sanchez Blasco and Federico Chiostri, which ended with a score of 6-4 6-0. “We are very satisfied with the level expressed during this week”, the words of the two winners.

Winning the women’s tournament, on the other hand, were the number 2 seed Maria Portillo and Kaori Peco, thanks to a 6-3 3-6 6-1 victory in the final over the number 1 on the draw Mafalda Marques Fernandes and Valeria Atencia Basilio. “I’m so happy to have reached this title together – Portillo said -. Thank you Kaori for having faith in me and insisting that things would come”. Portillo gains five positions in the FIP ranking, rising to number 126; for Peco, however, a jump of 23 positions, up to number 147.
