FIP European Padel Championships Qualifiers, day 1. Araujo family leads Portugal: two wins out of two

Sofia and Pedro Araujo live always apart due to competitions on the world padel circuit. In Oslo, however, the two Portuguese (Sofia number 10 in the women’s FIP ranking, Pedro number 133 in the men’s) found themselves under the same flag. And Portugal started the FIP European Padel Championships Qualifiers with two victories: the men beat Finland 3-0 (the Deus brothers were also on court), the women did the same against Montenegro.
The day 1 of the group stage was played at Nordic Padel: victories, in the men’s draw (four groups of three and three of four teams), also went to Switzerland, Monaco, Lithuania, Montenegro, Hungary, host Norway (3-0 to Kosovo) and Austria. In the women’s draw (two groups of four and one of three), winning debuts also for Estonia, Poland, Austria and Hungary.
On Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. and live streaming on the FIP YouTube channel, the second tie, which could already give the names of the first qualifiers for the final phase of the FIP European Padel Championships, scheduled in Cagliari (Italy) from 22 to 27 July.
