Asunción Premier Padel P2, day 4. In the semifinals it will be Sanchez-Josemaria again against Triay-Fernandez

Three sets in the semifinals in Bruxelles, three sets in the semifinals in Sevilla, one win each. For a place in the final of the Asunción Premier Padel P2, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez will face again Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez. A ‘trilogy’ that at the ueno SND Arena will once again put two of the best pairs on the Premier Padel circuit against each other. If the number 1 in the FIP ranking, in the quarters, beat 6-3 6-4 Araceli Martinez and Marina Guinart – the only pair not among the seeded players of the tournament being held in Paraguay –, Triay/Fernandez in two sets (7-6 6-4) defeated Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno. The other semifinal, the one at the bottom, will see Puerto Cabello, Bruxelles and Sevilla champions Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez (2) take on Marta Ortega and Veronica Virseda (5). Delfi and Bea, however, took a full two hours and 46 minutes to beat Virginia Riera and Sofia Araujo (7) 6-1 1-6 7-6. For Ortega/Virseda, however, 6-4 7-5 over Jessica Castelló and Claudia Jensen (6).

MEN In the men’s draw, on the other hand, the semifinalist pairs will be the same as those seen at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Sevilla, but in Asunción they will be on court in a different order. To reach their first final as a pair in the Premier Padel circuit, Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebron (3) will face Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia. The number 1 on the draw beat Mike Yanguas and Javi Garrido with a double 6-4, and Navarro and Lebron did the same against Fernando Belasteguin and Juan Tello (6-4 6-2 in this case). At the bottom half of the draw, however, there is a rematch of the Sevilla final, with Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan – the number 2 seed who beat 6-4 6-2 Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz in the quarters – who will try to beat Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno again, as they did in La Cartuja. The ‘Superpibes’, after a 6-4 6-3 win over Lucas Campagnolo and Javi Leal, continue to chase the dream of their first title of the season.

The semifinals will begin at 2 p.m. local time, 20:00 CET: it starts with Ortega/Virseda against Brea/Gonzalez, then Stupaczuk/Di Nenno-Chingotto/Galan. Not before 6 p.m., midnight CET, Josemaria/Sanchez-Triay/Fernandez and Coello/Tapia-Lebron/Navarro.
