FIP Seniors World Padel Championships, day 3: Here are the best eight who will play for the titles

Day three and the first final results for the FIP Seniors World Padel Championships in La Nucía (Alicante). With the group stage over, the knockout rounds will begin on Thursday, with a place in the semifinals up for grabs.

In the women’s draw, the big match of the day went to Spain, whose 4-1 win over Argentina gave it first place in Group A. One match victories (3-2) for the United States over Germany and, in the four-team group, for Denmark over Belgium. The quarter-finals will be played from 10 a.m.: Netherlands-Sweden, France-United States (the tie will be broadcast live on the FIP YouTube channel and that of the Federation of Comunitat Valenciana) and Belgium-Italy. Spain, which benefits from a bye, will return to the court directly in the semifinals on Friday.

In the men’s tournament, en plein for Argentina (over Denmark, which featured Mads Thunoe Laudrup, son of former footballer Michael), Sweden (over Germany), France (over Uruguay), Italy (over Australia, which had on court former tennis legend Pat Rafter) and Mexico (over Great Britain). If Spain gave up a match to the United States, still winning 4-1, the most balanced ties were those won 3-2 by Belgium and Chile over Portugal and Brazil. These are the quarter-finals starting at 4 p.m.: Spain-Mexico (live on the FIP YouTube channel and that of the Comunitat Valenciana Federation), Italy-France, Sweden-Netherlands, Chile-Argentina.

The FIP Seniors World Padel Championships will also continue for the other national teams, engaged in the 9th to 16th and 17th to 24th draws (men) and 8th to 14th and 15th to 22nd draws (women).
