FIP Rise Viña del Mar, there’s another Maxi Sanchez winning

There is another Maxi Sanchez winning in padel. Maximiliano Sanchez Blasco, compatriot but only namesake of the ‘Tiburon’ legend of our sport, won the FIP Rise in Viña del Mar in Chile. Paired with another Argentinian, Santiago Rolla, Sanchez – the number 4 seed on the draw – beat Pepe Aliaga and Daniel Martinez Otero (2) in the final with a score of 6-3 6-4. In the semifinals, the two winners had instead defeated the number 1 seeded pair of Christian Medina Murphy and Belar Vera Lopez. “We are very happy to have started the year this way”, the winners’ words.

Among the women, victory went to Chile’s Gabriela Roux Vidal and Gianina Minieri, who lived up to predictions by lifting the trophy without losing a set, finishing 6-3 7-5 over Kimberley Ahumada Carrasco and Catalina Arancibia.
