FIP Promotion Castellon, Gamondi-Dehnike, young champions

Teo Gamondi and Facundo Dehnike, in two, make 33 years. The Argentinean, born in 2006, is eighteen, while the Paraguayan, born in 2008 and vice Open Under 16 World Champion in Asuncion, is only fifteen: the two South Americans won the FIP Promotion in Castellon (Spain), overturning the predictions and lifting the trophy despite not starting among the top seeds. Young and very strong, Teo and Facundo defeated in the final in three sets (6-3 3-6 6-3) Matias Nicoletti and Adrian Rodriguez Rodriguez-Manzaneque, number 3 in the seeding, who had beaten Leygue/Guichard, leaders of the entry list, in the semifinals.

In the women’s draw, it were Camila Fassio Goyeneche and Raquel Eugenio Barrera (5) who won the tournament, thanks to a 6-4 6-1 victory in the final over Ares Llobera Irun and Maite Cano Pou: for Fassio/Eugenio it is already the second title of the season, again in the FIP Promotion category, after their success in the La Cala tournament, in Finestrat. “We are very satisfied with the results we are getting – the winners said – but above all with all the teamwork we are doing”.
