Playing again in Doha, waiting for Milan
November 29, 2023For the second week in a row, the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha is hosting a CUPRA FIP Tour tournament. After last weekend’s FIP RISE won by José Luis Gonzalez and Antonio Luque, it’s back to the court for a FIP STAR that awards 50 FIP ranking points to the winning pair. Leading the 32-pairs draw in the tournament starting today with the first round are Sweden’s Daniel Windahl, world number 50, and Spain’s José Solano Marmolejo, number 81.
Spaniards Javier Barahona and Javier Garcia form the number 2 seeded pair, with Raul Marcos and Emilio Sanchez Chamero number 3. Gonzalez and Luque are also on the court, but with other partners: the former will play with Khalid Saadon Alkuwari (Qatar) as the number 8 seed, the latter with Artem Pudovkin (6). For many of the FIP STAR Qatar players, it will be the ‘warm up’ tournament for the Milan Premier Padel which starts netx Monday in Italy.
