two Spanish pairs lift the trophy

A Spanish double in the FIP STAR Fastweb played at the Padel Arena in Perugia. Among the men, Javier Barahona and Javier Garcia (seeded number 4) beat Sweden’s Daniel Windahl and Simon Vasquez with a double tiebreak: in the second, more balanced than the first, Windahl and Vasquez – protagonists of a great tournament – were good at cancelling the first three match points (going from 3-6 to 6-6) before surrendering.
In the women’s final, on the other hand, there was no history: it was won by Nuria Rodriguez and Jimena Velasco Postiguillo, the number 2 seed in the draw. The two Spaniards clearly defeated (6-2 6-1) Marina Martinez Lobo and Carolina Navarro Bjork, who were leading the entry list of a tournament that closes with a great success in terms of fans attendance, which is common to all the events of the CUPRA FIP Tour.
