Ancona, the Next Gen of padel in Italy

While the big players are in Cagliari for the FIP PLATINUM Sardegna, Italy is also hosting another big tournament this weekend, at the youth level. A stage of the FIP PROMISES is being played in Ancona, with five categories on court: three men’s (Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18) and two women’s (Under 14 and Under 18). Among the Under 14s, Vicente Soto and Alvaro Bartolome, who have already won some stages of the tour (Soto won another tournament in Italy, in Bari, a few weeks ago), lead the draw.

Number 2 seeded, Italians Gabriele Laurino and Alessandro Stella. Enzo Vista and Antonio Veneziani lead the Under 16 entry list (Stefano Indomenico and Alessandro Pirrotta the number 2), while the Under 18 tournament will be played in two rounds of three pairs each. Round robin formula also in the women’s at the Bola Padel Next, with five pairs competing for the Under 14 title and as many engaged in the Under 18.
