Here are the stars Chingotto: “How nice to play in Cagliari”

At the TC Cagliari, it’s time for the stars. On Thursday, the day of the round of 16 of the FIP PLATINUM Sardegna, international padel tournament promoted by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Department of Tourism, Handicrafts and Trade, under the patronage of the Municipality of Cagliari, the most awaited players will make their debut: it’s time for the top seeds, exempted from playing the first round that was played between Tuesday and Wednesday. Fede Chingotto and Mike Yanguas will make their debut in the afternoon, on the Centre Court, in a match scheduled not before 6.00 p.m.: opponents, Barahona/Garcia. Two absolute champions, who usually play with two legends (Chingotto with Paquito Navarro, Yanguas with Fernando Belasteguin), but who are ready to mix their talents to inflame the Cagliari fans. “This is the third time I have come to Sardinia, I really enjoy playing here“, said Chingotto, arriving at the Tennis Club Cagliari for the training session. The Argentinean arrives as the expected protagonist of the tournament, but for now he does not commit himself: “Me as a favourite? We will see, the court will decide”.

Speaking about talent, it’s impossible to forget ‘Momo’ Gonzalez and Javier Garrido, who will play their second match on the Centre court (the programme will start at 10 a.m.) against the Spaniards Fernandez/Cardona. In the afternoon, also on the Centre Court, another player who has made padel history, Maxi Sanchez, also just arrived in Cagliari: “I’m happy to be here, I can’t wait to play”, said the Argentinean. ‘El Tiburón’ will take the court with Luciano Capra, with whom he played a great tournament in Madrid two months ago.

Expectation is also high for ‘Coki’ Nieto and Javier Rico, on court No. 1 (second match from 10 a.m.) against Italian-Argentinians Nicolas Suescun and Facundo Dominguez. Other Italo-Argentinian, Denis Perino, won his match today with Huete Hernandez. The Italians will also be back on the court on Thursday in the women’s draw: Carolina Orsi and Carla Mesa Salazar will face Sara Pujals Perez and Arantxa Soriano Perez, while Giorgia Marchetti and Chiara Pappacena will take on the lucky losers Alegre Masnou/Van fer Hoek, given the withdraw of Carmen Goenaga Garcia and Lucia Martinez Gomez (3). Out also Maria Virginia Riera and Tamara Icardo (1).
