It was a family triumph for Nuno and Miguel Deus, who won the FIP RISE in Houten, Netherlands. The two Portuguese brothers, who started as the tenth seed in the draw, beat the favourite pair of José Maria Mouliaa and José Carlos Gaspar 7-6 6-4 in the final. “The journey is long and only by playing at a high level will we be able to get where we want to be”, said the Deus brothers, at their second international title on the CUPRA FIP Tour after last May’s Albania Open.

In the women’s draw, however, everything went according to the predictions, with the success of Dutch hosts Marcella Koek and Stephanie Weterings, 6-2 6-2 in the final over Laura Bernard and Elyne Boeykens. Koek and Weterings, however, did not even have time to celebrate: they caught the first plane and flew to Paris, where they were entered in the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel qualifiers. To round off a perfect weekend, access to the main draw also arrived for the Dutchwomen.
