Martinez and Bautista, winning weekend

J factor at the FIP STAR in Gran Canaria. Winning the trophy were the number 4 seed on the draw, Javier Martinez and Jairo Bautista. In the final, the two Spanish players won in three sets (3-6 6-2 6-3) over the favourites in the men’s draw, Pablo Lijo and Mario Del Castillo. In the semifinals, however, Martinez and Bautista defeated Raul Marcos and Javier Garcia (2) with a double 6-3.

Among the women, victory went to Spain’s Beatriz Caldera Sanchez and Portugal’s Ana Catarina Nogueira, number two seeded: in the final, double 6-3 to Martina Fassio and Patricia Martinez Fortun, who defeated in the semifinals the number 1 seeded players, Marina Martinez Lobo and Sofia Saiz Vallejo.
