Brazil celebrates two Brazilians

Brazilians Joao Pedro Flores and Stefano Palma Flores won the FIP STAR Nomos Curitiba. The hosts, at the end of a very balanced final, won 6-4 4-6 7-6 over the big surprise of the tournament played in Brazil. Argentina’s Gonzalo Daniel Frete and Paraguay’s Adrian Perez had begun their journey defeating the number 1 seed, Chile’s Cristobal Martinez and Cristobal Molina, and from that moment on, they strung together a series of four consecutive victories without dropping a set, before their defeat in the final.
Joao Pedro wrote a long and emotional dedication on his Instagram profile: “What an unforgettable weekend! Congratulations to all the organisers of the FIP STAR Nomos Curitiba, it was great to experience it all – he said –. Thanks to everyone who cheered for us, thanks to Stefano for being my teammate, but congratulations also to our opponents. You were giants, we will meet again on court”. This is also the spirit of padel.
