Galan and Lebron warm up the engines ahead of their debut: “We love Rome”.

They are among the most eagerly awaited players and have a special bond with Italy. In view of their debut in this edition of BNL Italy Major Premier Padel, Ale Galan and Juan Lebron – champions in Rome in last year’s Major and also winners in Milan in Pp1 – are warming up the engines and are ready to fire up the Foro Italico audience again, in this tournament that marks their reunion after the forearm problems suffered by ‘El Lobo’.

The first edition represented a change of pace for the entire padel world, something we will remember“, Lebron‘s words after the first training session, “I have recovered well from the injury, I am confident that I no longer have that pain that did not allow me to play. I’ve missed the daily routine, but I feel ready even though we haven’t been able to train so much. I have a lot of desire to play and I don’t feel stress, maybe I’m a bit nervous, but it’s something positive, which helps concentration“.

Galan is happy to be reunited with his partner. “It wasn’t easy being without him“, he admits, “and I missed him a lot. I tried to stay at my maximum level to be ready when he came back. It was hot here in Rome but not the worst conditions we found, it was even hotter in Spain”.

The plays of this fantastic pair have made the Roman fans fall in love with them and this year the scenario will be even more impressive. “Padel keeps growing year after year and playing on the Centre Court is a dream come true“, acknowledges Lebron, “It is an iconic venue that has made history in tennis. We love Rome and the Roman public: our relationship with Italians is fantastic, there is almost a bubble of Galan/Lebron fans who follow us and make us feel at home“.

Galan emphasises the importance of the women’s tournament debut. “The presence of the women is proof that the Premier Padel project is working“, says the ambassador of the sport, “It was in the initial targets and therefore it is normal to have arrived here. Mixed doubles? I don’t rule them out, it would be interesting, although very challenging“.
