The CUPRA FIP Tour, in its record-breaking week, is also stopping in Portugal. This weekend, a FIP Bronze event will take place in Setúbal, with both the women’s and men’s draws being played.
The women’s draw is led by the pair of Claudia Escacena (winner of the FIP Bronze in Qatar in January) and Patri Ribeiro (winner of the FIP Bronze in Rio Grande in February). The two, ranked 112 and 151 in the FIP ranking, are followed by the Spanish pair Ares Llobera-Maite Cano, ranked 123 in the FIP ranking.
In the men’s draw, all eyes are on the Portuguese top-seeded pair, Pedro Araujo (brother of Sofia, ranked 8th in the FIP ranking) and Antonio Luque, ranked 140 and 112 in the world. After reaching the quarterfinals at the FIP Bronze in Manila, they are aiming for their first international win of 2025 in their home country. On the other side of the draw are the Spanish pair Pablo Castillo and Candido Jorge Alfaro, ranked 143 and 132 in the FIP ranking, who were finalists at the FIP Bronze in Kaunas in March.
The tournament will take place in Setúbal (Portugal) from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th, offering 40 points for the FIP ranking.
