Premier Padel statements about Santiago P1 finals
April 1, 2025
Premier Padel released the following press notes regarding the P1 finals in Santiago.
MEN Premier Padel regrets to inform that the men’s final of the Santiago Premier Padel P1, scheduled for today, has been cancelled due to the withdrawal of Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron for health reasons.
Stupaczuk is suffering from a fever, which was assessed at the last minute today in consultation with the tournament’s medical team. Following this evaluation, and in agreement with the medical professionals, it has been determined that Stupaczuk won’t be able to compete, and the final has been cancelled for health and safety reasons.
As a result, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto are automatically crowned champions of the Santiago Premier Padel P1.
In light of the situation, Franco Stupaczuk shared the following message with fans: “It really hurts not to be able to play the final today. I tried everything to recover in time, but I’m not in a condition to compete. Thank you to the Chilean fans for all the love—hopefully we’ll be back soon to fight for another title”.
WOMEN After the weather front that affected the Santiago Metropolitan Region last Sunday, the tournament maintenance team worked tirelessly to ensure today’s finals day at the Santiago P1 could begin as normal. However, due to the extreme humidity caused by the rain, the tournament organising committee, in mutual agreement with the women’s finalists, has decided to officially end the women’s final, which was suspended earlier tonight.
We regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused for the players and the fans.
