Kuala Lumpur, Nunes-Solbes and Ryzhova-Fernandez Lopez lead the draws in the first event in Malaysia
April 18, 2025
It’s a historic first time for Malaysia. Along with South Africa and Cyprus, the CUPRA FIP Tour arrives this weekend in the Asian country, where both men’s and women’s draws of the FIP Bronze Kuala Lumpur will take place.
At the top of the men’s seeding are Gustavo Nunes and Miguel Solbes. Ranked 136 and 83 in the FIP ranking, they are looking for their first international win of 2025 after reaching the quarterfinals last week in the FIP Bronze Bahrain. On the other side of the main draw, we find Christian Medina and Alberto Garcia, who were semifinalists in February at the FIP Gold Paredes.
In the women’s draw, the leading pair is Anastasiia Ryzhova (who reached the quarterfinals at the FIP Silver Dubai) and Lucia Fernandez Lopez (semifinalist last week at the FIP Silver Bristol), followed by the British team Phillips-Tordoff, who made the quarterfinals at the FIP Bronze Egypt.
The tournament will take place in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 and will award 40 points for the FIP ranking.
