Day 4. Navarro-Bergamini in the semis again. First time for Di Nenno-Tello

The ‘sound of pala’ at the Gare Maritime Tour & Taxis. With a great comeback after losing the first set, Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini – the number 7 seed in the Lotto Brussels P2 Premier Padel – reached their second semi-final in a row after a week ago in the Doha Major. The feeling between the Spanish and the Brazilian is improving match after match: it was Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto (3) who were beaten 3-6 7-6 6-3 at the end of a match that lasted two hours and 18 minutes. But that of Paquito and Lucas was not the only victory against the predictions on the day in the men’s draw: in their first tournament as a pair, Argentinians Martin Di Nenno and Juan Tello (6) beat another new pair, that of Juan Lebron and Alex Ruiz (4), with a score of 6-3 5-7 6-3. Predictions were respected in the other two quarter-finals, with Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia coming back from one set down in the evening against Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger, beaten 4-6 6-3 6-4. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, meanwhile, continued their title defence with a 6-0 7-5 win over Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz. Di Nenno/Tello-Chingotto/Galan and Coello/Tapia-Bergamini/Navarro the Saturday’s semifinals.

WOMEN The semifinalists in the women’s draw will be the same as a week ago in Doha. Only the challenges will be different. In the top half, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez (1) after a 6-3 3-6 6-4 to Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen will face Ale Salazar and Veronica Virseda (7), who broke the dream of Marta Borrero and Martina Calvo with a double 6-2. In the bottom half, on the other hand, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea (2) after their impressive 6-2 6-1 win over Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno will face their former teammates Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3), coming back from a 6-3 6-4 win over another pair coming from the qualifiers, that of Raquel Eugenio and Laia Rodriguez. The two women’s semi-finals will open the morning session at 12 noon CET and the afternoon session not before 5 p.m..
