The Fab Four storm onto the “Pista Juan y Bela”
March 20, 2025
A new chapter in the Fab Four rivalry is set to unfold at the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1, as day 3 kicks off on Thursday with their arrival: Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia on one side, Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto on the other— the top four players in the world rankings. Once again, they are the most anticipated stars, drawing excitement from the American crowd, which has already welcomed them over the past two days with applause, photos, and autograph requests during their practice sessions at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
For both pairs, it will be their first match on a historic court: the “Pista Juan y Bela,” inaugurated on Monday. Galan and Chingotto, seeded No. 2, will make their morning debut against Alex Ruiz and Alex Chozas (10), who secured a hard-fought victory today over Cepero/Torre (7-5 6-7 6-2) in one of the day’s most intense battles. For the “Chingalan” duo, this tournament is an opportunity for redemption following their quarterfinal exits at both the Riyadh P1 and last year’s Finals. Meanwhile, Tapia and Coello (1) are on the hunt for their second title of 2025, after claiming victory in Saudi Arabia. Their first match will be against Barahona/Garcia (who defeated Ruiz/Gil today with a 7-6 6-1 win) in the second match of the afternoon session, set to start at 4 PM local time.
Also taking the court will be Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron, fresh off their P2 Cancun title, as they close out the round of 16 against Cardona/Augsburger, already defeated in the semifinal in Arabia. Another highly anticipated matchup on Court 1 will see Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto (4) take on Tino Libaak and Juan Tello (13). The Argentine duo, after defeating Rico/Gutierrez 7-5 6-3, are gearing up for a rematch of their Riyadh quarterfinals, previously won by the Spaniards.
WOMEN’S DRAW The women’s draw resumes with two of the biggest names: Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea (2), champions of the P2 Gijon and Cancun, aiming for their first P1 title of the season. They will make their debut in the first afternoon match against Barrera/Caparros. Opening the day at 10 AM will be the No. 1 seeds, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, who won the P1 title in Saudi Arabia and will face Melania Merino and Agueda Perez.
Also in the spotlight is the return of Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3), the only pair to have beaten Triay and Brea this season. They will start their campaign against Eugenio/Rodriguez, while Sofia Araujo and Marta Ortega (4), finalists in Cancun, will face Caldera/Goeanaga. Among the top-seeded pairs advancing, Ale Salazar and Veronica Virseda (7) dominated their match, winning 6-0 6-0 against American wildcards Dubins/Morga. Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen also impressed with a 6-3 6-0 victory over Orsi/Rodriguez.
