Immediately after the end of the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1, the circuit moves to Chile for the first South American tournament of 2025. All the world’s best pairs will be on court, trying to write their names in the roll of honour after Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia in the men’s draw and Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez, who won their first title as a pair in Santiago in 2024.
MEN There will be 48 pairs at the start of the men’s tournament, with Coello and Tapia starting against wild cards Martinez and Molina in their hunt for revenge after their semi-final defeat in Miami. Number 2 seed Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, champions in Miami and opposing (after a first round bye) Goenaga/Zapata or Gijon champions ‘Curro’ Cabeza and Diego Garcia. The other finalist pair in Florida, Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk, complete the podium: debut against Esbri/Oria or Moyano/Jimenez. Possible quarter-finals: Coello/Tapia (1)-Bergamini/Navarro (7), Alonso/Arroyo (8)-Stupaczuk/Lebron (3), Yanguas/Nieto (4)-Di Nenno/Garrido (5), Gonzalez/Sanz (6)-Chingotto/Galan (2).
WOMEN Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, victorious in Gijon, Cancun and also in Miami, will try to chase poker in Chile. Arruabarrena/Rufo or a pair from the qualifiers will be the Argentine and Spaniard’s first opponents, with Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez leading the 28-pair draw and debuting against Orsi/Rodriguez or Canovas/Velasco. Hypothetical quarter-finals: Josemaria/Sanchez (1)-Salazar/Virseda (7), Osoro/Castelló (6)-Fernandez/Gonzalez (3), Ortega/Araujo (4)-Alonso/Ustero (6), Sainz/Llaguno (5)-Triay/Brea (2).
