Puebla, day 3. Another Jensen becoming great: Enzo into the semifinal with Castro
March 7, 2025
Claudia and Enzo Jensen were born less than a year apart. Claudia on July 21th 2005, Enzo on May 17th 2006. Claudia has already established herself at the top of world padel and is currently number 13 in the FIP ranking, Enzo – currently number 159 – aims to follow the same path. Paired with the Spanish, but born in Douala (Cameroon) Boris Castro, Jensen qualified for the semi-finals of the FIP Platinum in Puebla (Mexico) by beating the number 1 seed Denis Perino and Facundo Dominguez with a score of 6-3 6-3. A result that is not the first this early in the season, as Jensen and Castro have already lifted the trophy in the FIP Silver in Valencia. Castro and Jensen are now called upon to beat in the semifinals Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso, who don’t seem to have been affected by the jetlag from arriving from Gijon (the other semifinal is Rodriguez/Rubini-Castaño/Suescun). Surprising semifinals, those of the men’s draw, without any of the top four seeded pairs.
No jetlag problems also for the protagonists of the two women’s semifinals, which will start at 5 p.m. local time (midnight CET): in the first one Noa Canovas and Jimena Velasco (the only non-qualified pair) will play against Aranzazu Osoro and Jessica Castelló (2), while in the second one the number 1 and 3 seeds will play. On one side Ale Salazar and Veronica Virseda, on the other Ale Alonso and Andrea Ustero.
