Ponta Delgada, Nuno and Miguel Deus ‘at home’ to continue their great 2025
March 6, 2025
Nuno and Miguel Deus are eager for revenge. The pair, who had a great start to the 2025 season, are leading the FIP Silver Ponta Delgada tournament after reaching the 65th and 59th positions in the FIP rankings. They are coming off a final appearance at the FIP Gold Paredes and are looking for success at home after a strong performance at the Riyadh P1, where they were defeated in the round of 16 by the pair Chingotto-Galan, in front of their fellow countryman and big fan, Cristiano Ronaldo. On the other side of the draw, we have the pair of Gustavo Nunes and Miguel Solbes. The two, ranked 118th and 80th in the FIP rankings, are seeking their first international victory of 2025.
In the women’s tournament, the top-seeded pair is Marina Guinart and Victoria Iglesias. The two Spaniards, winners of the 2024 CUPRA FIP Finals, are aiming for the win after reaching the semifinals at the FIP Gold Paredes. On the other side of the draw, we have the pair of Barbara Las Heras, fresh off her win at the FIP Gold Dubai, and Carla Mesa (making her first international tournament appearance of 2025 and finalist at the FIP Star Gran Canaria last August).
The tournament will take place in the Azores from Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9, and will award 80 points for the FIP ranking.
