Egypt II, Cassetta in the history Ninth title in the CUPRA FIP Tour, like Bautista
March 3, 2025
From Giulianova to Beheira, from Italy to Egypt. A journey almost three years long between the first CUPRA FIP Tour tournament he won in 2022 and the last two in a row, which put him in the history books. Marco Cassetta, paired with José Luis Gonzalez, also won the FIP Silver Egypt II, having done the same with the first tournament played a week ago. A title, the one obtained thanks to a 6-4 6-4 victory over Italians Flavio Abbate and Giulio Graziotti, which allows Cassetta – who has risen to number 93 in the FIP ranking – to join Jairo Bautista at the top of the list of players with the most tournaments (9) won on the CUPRA FIP Tour, the circuit of the International Padel Federation.
The two in Egypt are also the first two outside Europe for a player who has lifted five trophies in Italy, one in France and one in the Netherlands, three of which (before the two in Egypt there was the one last year in Biella) paired with Gonzalez. It was a great start to the season for Cassetta, completed by the final of the FIP Bronze in Qatar and the semi-final of the FIP Silver in Rio Grande (Brazil).
