Draws revealed: Coello-Tapia and Josemaria-Sanchez the pairs to beat

A new exciting chapter of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel 2025 kicked off today with the draw for the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1. The first-ever event of the circuit in the United States, starting on March 18 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, will award 1,000 points to the winning pairs. The men’s draw will feature 40 pairs, with all the top players still chasing Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, the winners of the season’s first P1 in Riyadh. Meanwhile, 28 pairs will compete in the women’s draw.

MEN The top four seeds (Coello/Tapia, Chingotto/Galan, Stupaczuk/Lebron, and Yanguas/Nieto) will enter the tournament directly in the round of 16, while pairs ranked from 5 to 16 will receive a bye and start in the second round. In the quarterfinals, the FIP world No. 1s could face Lucas Bergamini and Paquito Navarro (7); meanwhile, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) will be looking for redemption after their quarterfinal exit in Riyadh against Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger. This time, they could meet Martin Di Nenno and Javi Garrido (5) on their path. Cardona and Augsburger (9) could be the first opponents of Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron (3), while Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto (4) might debut in the lower half of the draw against Tino Libaak and Juan Tello (13), whom they already defeated in the quarterfinals in Saudi Arabia.

Also noteworthy is the all-American showdown between the two wildcard pairs promoted to the main draw: cousins Aaron and Matias Segura on one side, and Vinny Di Francesco and Nico Agritelley on the other. “I am honored to represent the United States in the first-ever Premier Padel tournament in the USA”, said Agritelley. “This event will mark a significant step for the growth of padel in the country, where the sport is rapidly expanding. Being part of this historic moment is both a privilege and a great inspiration”.WOMEN In the women’s draw, the top four pairs will also receive a bye and enter the second round. The tournament starts with Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, who reached the semifinals in Cancun and could face a potential quarterfinal clash against Andrea Ustero and Ale Alonso, the No. 6 seeds in Miami and now firmly established among the elite of padel. Eyes will also be on Cancun finalists Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea (2), who will debut against either Noemi Aguilar/Teresa Navarro-Lopez or a qualifier pair. In the top half of the draw, the much-anticipated return of Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3) will see them face either Sofia Saiz and Marina Lobo (who attended today’s draw ceremony) or another qualifier pair.

Another exciting duo to watch is Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo (4); after reaching the final at the Cancun P2, the Spanish-Portuguese pair will debut against either Caldera/Goenaga or Canovas/Velasco. As in the men’s draw, the women’s competition also features a USA-based wildcard team, composed of Brittany Dubins (the top American female player, born in Miami) and Marta Morga.

“I couldn’t be more excited to represent the United States in this historic Premier Padel Miami P1”, said Dubins. “Competing alongside my partner in my hometown, against the best players in the world, is a dream come true.”
