The draws. Cabeza-Garcia against the ‘giants’ Lebron and Stupaczuk

After the FIP Platinum show in Puebla, the great padel is ready for another unmissable week in Mexico, with the Premier Padel P2 in Cancun, the third event of the season after those in Riyadh and Gijon. Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk are the pair to beat in the 28-pair men’s draw: ‘el Lobo’ and the Argentinean, as number 1 seed, will be looking for their first title as a pair, in a main draw that features the two finalist pairs from the P2 in Gijon as number 2 and 3 seed. The number 2 seed will be the young ‘Curro’ Cabeza and David Garcia, who have lifted the trophy in Spain; the number 3, on the other hand, are Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso, who have won two of the last three tournaments played (the FIP Gold in Paredes and the FIP Platinum in Puebla) and lost the final in Gijon.

In the women’s draw, on the other hand, there will be 24 pairs at the start, with the eight seeds starting their tournament from the round of 16: Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, winners in Gijon and number 2 in the seeding, will start against Riera/Marrero or the Mexican wild cards Peña/Ramme. Leading the top half, as always, are Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, expected to face Noa Canovas and Jimena Velasco (finalists in Puebla) or a qualified pair. Number 3 on the draws Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo, with Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno who ‘move up’ a step and will play in Cancun as number 4.
