Sweden I Bon Padel, Home team Axelsson-Vasquez triumphs in Gothenburg

Young and victorious. 19-year-old Adam Axelsson lifted the trophy at the FIP Bronze Sweden I Bon Padel. In Gothenburg, the Swedish player, born in 2005, won in front of his fans alongside his fellow countryman Simon Vasquez, defeating the Spanish pair Figuerola-Mercadal in the final with a score of 6-2 6-3. This is an important victory for the two Swedes, who continue their rise in the FIP ranking, reaching positions 153 and 110 respectively.

“We leave Gothenburg with an FIP Bronze title and a good feeling on the court. I’m happy to have won my first tournament of the year, I hope to come back soon”, said Adam Axelsson after the win, which was his first since July 2024, when he won the FIP Rise Cordenons.

In the women’s draw, the winners were the pair formed by Ana Dominguez (ranked 79) and Carla Touly (ranked 84). The young Spanish player (born in 2005) and the experienced French player won the final against Lucia Garcia and Camila Fassio with a score of 6-4 6-2, claiming their first trophy together after reaching the final of the FIP Star Beau Plan in November 2024.
