Egypt I: Gonzalez and Cassetta win and enter the top 100 of the FIP ranking

This weekend, the CUPRA FIP Tour was also in Egypt. The winners of the FIP Silver Egypt I, held in Beheira, were Marco Cassetta and José Luis Gonzalez. The Italian-Spanish pair, who won their first title in 2025 after losing the final at the FIP Bronze Qatar last January, also climbed the FIP ranking, reaching positions 98 and 97 respectively, thanks to the 80 points earned by winning the tournament.

They won the final against the Dutch players Youp De Kroon and Thijs Roper with a score of 6-1, 2-1, with the match interrupted in the second set due to the Dutch pair’s injury withdrawal. “We managed to bring it home, now let’s keep going”, said Marco Cassetta after the final, also looking ahead to the upcoming challenges.
