Day 4. Brea, Gonzalez, Triay and Fernandez are back, but the pairs have changed

Last year, Delfi Brea, Bea Gonzalez, Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez won 11 of the 24 tournaments on the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2024, and were in turn the only antagonists to Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria. Tomorrow, all four will be on the same court, but compared to a few months ago, the pairs have changed: the Argentinean is now Gemma’s partner, with Claudia – who had her magical year right next to Triay – starting the 2025 season with Bea Gonzalez. It will be a match of a thousand emotions and also of a thousand motivations for the four players, who share a goal: to challenge the leadership in the FIP ranking of Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez. Brea/Triay got there after 6-4 6-3 to Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno, Gonzalez/Fernandez with 6-2 6-0 to Goenaga/Caldera.

The day 4 of the first Qatar Airways Premier Padel tournament of the season was otherwise postponed until tomorrow due to rain, with the match between Stupaczuk/Lebron and Garrido/Di Nenno suspended after three games and the others postponed until Friday, when the schedule will see both the quarter-finals and the semifinals, starting at 10.30 a.m. local time, 8.30 a.m. CET. And at the end of a long day, the names of the first finalist pairs of 2025 will be known.
