Day 3. Coello-Tapia vs. Chingotto-Galan, will the challenge still be endless?

The never-ending challenge between Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan is, for the moment, a long-distance challenge. The season for the top four players in the FIP ranking began today at Padel Rush, and the debut of the top two seeds in the Riyadh Season Premier Padel P1 was a successful one. The number 1 seed in the men’s draw overcame Lucho Capra and Juanlu Esbri 6-2 6-3; the number 2 seed, on the other hand, ended (6-4 6-2) the great tournament of brothers Nuno and Miguel Deus, who started from the qualifiers. The winners of 19 of the 24 tournaments in 2024 (14 for Coello/Tapia, 5 for Chingotto/Galan) will only meet in the final, but to do this they will have to overcome the many newly formed pairs, all of them will try to break the endless challenge. Two of them will be on court for the big quarter-final match scheduled for Thursday at 3 p.m. local time (1 p.m. CET): on one side Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron (3), on the other Martin Di Nenno and Javi Garrido (5), with the Argentine finding on the other side of the net in the match of memories the two companions of last year, first the other ‘Superpibe’ then ‘el Lobo’. If Coello and Tapia will face Alex Chozas and Alex Ruiz (10), for Chingotto and Galan the exam will be tough, against the young Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger, protagonists of the feat of the day (7-6 6-3) against Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz.

WOMEN Speaking of exams, it was a tough one for Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, who after more than two hours of battle got the better of Andrea Ustero and Ale Alonso (6-4 5-7 6-4). Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3), on the other hand, remained on the court for only 57 minutes, victorious 6-1 6-2 over Marta Talavan and Ksenia Sharifova. Those who will have to defend their throne are Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria: after their 6-1 6-0 debuts against Alix Collombon and Araceli Martinez, the difficulty will increase in the quarters against Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen.
