Kick off on Thursday in Barcelona Coello-Tapia and Josemaria-Sanchez the pairs to beat

Four days of show at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, the last of a historic season for world padel. From Thursday to Sunday, 22 December, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals will close an impressive 2024, with great numbers: 2,476 matches played, 581 players involved in the men’s and women’s draw, from 29 countries, 23 tournaments in 16 countries from 4 different continents. The last 16 matches, eight men’s and eight women’s, will be played in Barcelona, with the novelty of the final for third and fourth place on Sunday, after the tribute that Barcelona and padel will pay to Fernando Belasteguin.

The 16 best players of the FIP Race will be on court. It starts on Thursday with the first four quarter-finals, two men’s and two women’s. The first two at 2 p.m. CET, with Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo (winners of two titles, in the P2 in Genova and NewGiza) opposing Ale Salazar/Jessica Castellò, with the latter winning the P1 in Acapulco in 2024, paired with Claudia Jensen. Next up are Martin Di Nenno and Juan Lebron (who triumphed in P2 in Finland) against Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini, with the Brazilian who was the last in the Milano Premier Padel P1 to earn a place in the Finals. Not before 5 p.m. CET is the afternoon session, with the No. 1 pairs of the two draws on the court: Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria (winners of nine titles this season) will debut against Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno, in an afternoon completed by Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, winners of 14 titles in 2024 and who will try to continue their open streak of 45 consecutive victories facing Pablo Cardona and Paquito Navarro. Friday the other quarter-finals, semifinals on Saturday, finals on Sunday.
