day 1: what a start for Japan and Kuwait!

Japan and Kuwait kicked off strong, while Lebanon pulled off a comeback win. That wraps up Day 1 of the FIP Juniors Asian Padel Championships, which began today in Bahrain. The tournament brings together the best of Asia’s NextGen players (Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18), with seven teams competing for the title until Saturday. In Group A, the Japanese team started with a clean 3-0 win against hosts Bahrain. Tomorrow, they’ll be back on the court at 4:30 PM local time to face the United Arab Emirates, who will be playing their first match of the tournament.

Group B had its share of excitement too. Lebanon bounced back after losing the first match of their tie against Iran, eventually winning 2-1. Meanwhile, Kuwait swept Saudi Arabia with three straight wins. Tomorrow, Kuwait and Lebanon will go head-to-head to decide (at least for now) the top spot in the group, while Iran and Saudi Arabia will try to pick up their first win.
