CUPRA FIP Finals, a record-breaking year ends in Bourg en Bresse
December 10, 2024For the CUPRA FIP Tour, the circuit of the International Padel Federation, it was a record year. 114 tournaments were organised on the five continents, of which 74 were combined. The last, the 115th, will be the CUPRA FIP Finals in Bourg en Bresse, France, which kicks off on Wednesday and will conclude an exciting season on Sunday. There will be 48 pairs at the start in France, with two draws of 24 ‘parejas’ each and excellent names on court, starting with Jairo Bautista and Fran Guerrero, respectively number 24 and 25 in the FIP ranking and who will lead the men’s tournament. At the bottom end will be Victor Ruiz and Lucho Capra, with José Diestro and Juanlu Esbri completing the seeded podium. In the women’s draw, on the other hand, Marina Guinart, number 24 in the FIP ranking, and Victoria Iglesias, number 30, will lead; the number 2 seed will be Carolina Orsi and Nuria Rodriguez, with French hope represented by Alix Collombon, paired with Spanish Araceli Martinez (3).
Same format for the two draws: the eight seeded players will come directly into play in the round of 16 on Thursday.
SUSTAINABILITY As part of the commitment to a sustainable future, a theme of primary importance for FIP and shared with the tournament organisers, all signage at the CUPRA FIP Finals will be completely eco-responsible. All panels and visual communication media of the event will be printed on recycled materials, mainly cardboard, thus minimising their environmental impact. A selective recycling system will also be implemented throughout the event venue. This initiative will facilitate responsible waste management and contribute to a significant reduction of the CUPRA FIP Finals’ ecological footprint.
